App 12/60: Team Idea Polling

Simitless enables associations and small businesses to improve their teams’ satisfaction and develop their democratic self-management processes by introducing an internal voting application.

Your teams, members of your association, your employees have ideas. They know what they do best, and they should probably be the first to be consulted if you aim to improve the way your organization operates on an everyday basis.

Say, you want to ameliorate the working conditions within your organization. Or, maybe you want to enhance the brand image of your company. And now, at the time when work from home has become the new normal, you try to source the avenues for improving your organization’s operations by organizing remote brainstorming sessions. To sum it up, you would like to have a simple system that can accommodate both idea suggestion and voting to give everyone within your organization or association a chance to be heard.

Simitless has exactly this kind of app that will provide you with a system for managing ideas and conducting a vote. Once you set up your application, drawing your inspiration from the provided template, invite all your employees to join your application. They can easily do so by creating a Simitless account. Creating an account on the platform enables every one of your employees to make a record that will host their revolutionary idea.

Simitless’ voting system is set up in an intuitive and familiar manner. For example, the voting interface features the “Thumbs up” and “Thumbs down” icons. By clicking either one or the other, users can (and do!) swing the vote in either direction. The votes are not secret, as all interactions are recorded in the field’s history (however, you can deactivate the history function, if you want to). Once the user casts their vote, the counter is updated and the buttons are disabled. Yet, users can re-cast their vote, if they reload the page or navigate between multiple pages and return to the voting page. Please note, there is no strict control over the voting rights! At this point in time, this application operates under the premise of mutual trust and leaving no place to the win-the-vote-at-any-cost philosophy. In other words, we advise you not to use the app to conduct any kind of serious votes!

And look at that! Now you have a system for everyone to contribute, speak their mind and be heard - an extremely important tool to improve the well-being of your employees and the overall atmosphere within your organization.

But that is not all. You can go even further and add another data type so that each idea is enabled to adding comments, thus eliciting even more engagement and participation on the part of your team!
