App 47/60: Workforce Manager

Simitless helps human resources managers manage the company's workforce.

Your business has gone into a hiring frenzy. Over the last couple of weeks alone, you have shaken hands with so many new colleagues that human resources management had to step up and get more professional. Monitoring how everyone is keeping up with their tasks and responsibilities has become the key to properly managing the activities of the company. But the larger the workforce, the larger amounts of information the HR must go through. With no dedicated tool to assist them with this task, the likelier they are to make errors, miss deadlines, or worse, overlook the warning signs of major troubles ahead. A small workforce management application would be a welcoming breath of fresh air. Indeed, such a nifty tool has all the chances of becoming the cornerstone of your organization's development. But where does one even start looking for something like that? Well, have you heard of Simitless? If not, then you are definitely missing out.

Among a vast multitude of helpful apps for different areas of your personal and professional life alike, Simitless offers you an application model to manage your company's workforce. Consult the application model, then click " Use this model" button to create your copy of the app. Simitless is a system that adapts to your needs. Plus, it is risk-free. How so, you wonder? Well, Simitless does not require any disproportionate investment upfront to set your application up and running: try out the app first and then pay only for the necessary resources. At any time, you can either improve and grow your application, or, on the contrary, reduce its size and cut down on its capabilities. To save your progress, think of creating an account by following the instructions on the green buttons! Now, although this model might appear quite similar in its implementation to Application 46/60: Employee Directory, it’s quite different in its purpose.

To start configuring your application, use the main menu to add the departments of your company ( Department ). While adding the departments, keep in mind that all you have to do in this step of configuring your app is to input the name of each of the added departments.

Then, open the positions' management table ( Positions) and create () or import () one position per type of position in your company. These can represent just a position or a position accompanied by a level of seniority (e.g. senior, junior, etc). Now, you can go ahead and add a position description. For more, a complete position description typically includes: positioning in the organization, main missions, activities and tasks, means and prerogatives, internal and external relations, necessary skills as well as professional experience, and required training or diplomas.

After that, go to the employee table ( Employee). Go ahead and create a record per employee of your company, or import an existing list using the button. A record corresponding to an employee is defined by the employee’s name, job title, usual place of work, status ("Employee", "Suspended", "Left"), a photo, the date they have taken up the employment on, eventually the date they stopped working in your company, an email address, a phone number and of course, a link to a department record and another link to the record of the responsible employee manager. We have added a counter displaying the overall time that the employee has worked. As a result, the app can now calculate the full-time equivalent number of employees in the statistics of the departments.

Finally, to finish setting up your app, reopen the list of departments and select the representative for each department. In this same department record, you will find two automatically calculated numbers: the number of team members as well as the "full-time equivalent" workforce.

And almost as if by magic, your workforce management tool is all set up and ready to be used. Nothing can stop you from managing your business even more effectively now. And who knows, maybe it could even be the start of a large internal performance management system for your business.

If you want more features, but don't think you know how to modify your application yourself, talk to your local IT specialist, we will support them in setting up your system for you! For a limited time, while we are working on setting up our consultant network, we can personally assist you with getting your system up and running.
